Saimassayeva Aruzhan was born on December 9 in Almaty. She received her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, graduating from the doctoral program "8D03101- Sociology" (2022–2025). In 2025, she defended her dissertation on the topic: "Sociological Aspects of the Hijab (Headscarf): A Case Study of the Large Metropolis of Almaty." She began her professional career in 2019 as a department specialist. - From 2021 to 2022, she held the position of Researcher in the Department of Academic Quality and Institutional Research at KIMEP University. - Since 2022, she has been a member of an international research project on poverty in Kazakhstan and Central Asia (in collaboration with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University). - Since 2023, she has been an executor of the grant project "Religiosity / Well-being and Identity of Kazakhstani Youth" funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. - Since 2024, she has been a Lead Researcher at the Center for Sociological Research and Social Engineering at KazNU. - Since 2025, she has been a Project Assistant at the Centre for Sustainable Development in Central Asia, a joint initiative of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. As part of her professional development, she completed an international research internship at the Centre for Cultural and Religious Studies at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). Dr. Saimassayeva is the author of over 15 scientific publications. Aruzhan's work has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals and in international conference proceedings. Dr. Saimassayeva is a co- author of chapters in the collective monograph "Religiosity / Spirituality, Identity and Well-being: A Sociological Reconstruction of Values in Youth" (edited by G.S. Abdiraiymova).
